Natural Stone Industry Training Group

The NSITG was formed in 2005 and is the principal source of information about careers, training, development and skills in the natural stone industry. It ensures that high standards are set and maintained, that appropriate training is availableand it covers all aspects of the industry including quarrying, stonemasonry, banker masonry, stone and floor fixing, hard landscaping, façade cleaning and restoration, design, conservation and contracting.

The NSITG, which operates on behalf of everyone in the natural stone industry has six key aims.

  • To promote the natural stone industry as a rewarding career opportunity
  • To increase the number of people participating in existing sector training and formal qualification options
  • To develop new training and qualification provision where required
  • To make it as easy as possible for employers to engage with employee skills development
  • To increase the penetration of CSCS Cards
  • To celebrate, nuture and promote the talent within the industry

It is sponsored by ConstructionSkills and is open to both members and non members of the Stone Federation GB.

The Group meets four times annually for about three hours each meeting and new members are always welcome.
