Stone Federation Great Britain is the official trade association for the natural stone industry. The Federation co-ordinates all aspects of the industry and provides specifiers and users with a first point of contact for information, advice and guidance in sourcing appropriate materials and a reliable service. Stone Federation GB represents employers, liaises with government on legal affairs, health and safety, technical standards, craftsmanship, training and education. The NSITG was formed in 2005 and is the principal source of information about careers, training, development and skills in the natural stone industry. It ensures that high standards are set and maintained and it covers all aspects of the industry from quarrying, fixing, design, masonry, restoration, conservation and contracting. www.nsitg.org.uk |

CITB is the Sector Skills Council for the construction industry. A partnership between CITB, CITB Northern Ireland and the Construction Industry Council, it is UK-wide and represents the whole industry from professional consultancies to major contractors and the SMEs in their supply chains. www.cskills.org |

Since 2002 NSAC, the delivery arm of the National Specialist Team within CITB, has been providing a service to assist those specialised sectors of the Construction Industry which as a result of their specialised nature and resultant relatively small operative population, have in the past been disadvantaged by a lack of training or assessment provision from the traditional FE sector. www.cskills.org |
